What Is RHA?
A filler designed for faces that move
RHA stands for Resilient Hyaluronic Acid. The collection is made by Revance — the same company behind Daxxify — and represents a meaningful step forward in how filler is formulated. Rather than focusing purely on structure or volume, the RHA collection was built around one specific question: what happens to filler when your face moves?
The result is PRESERVED Network technology — a gentle manufacturing process that keeps the hyaluronic acid in a state closer to what naturally exists in your skin. Unlike more heavily processed fillers, RHA HA can stretch up to 32% and bounce back, according to manufacturer testing. It is also the first and only filler collection with FDA approval specifically for dynamic wrinkles and folds.

What Sets It Apart
Why RHA looks natural when you smile
Traditional fillers were not specifically designed with dynamic movement in mind. They may look excellent at rest but feel or appear stiff when you animate. RHA was engineered to solve that.
It flexes, then recovers
The PRESERVED Network technology allows RHA gels to deform and return to shape — meaning they move with your face during expression, not against it. Many patients describe treated areas feeling more natural in motion compared to other fillers they've tried.
Looks natural when you laugh
Standard fillers can leave folds or ridges visible during strong facial expressions. Because RHA moves with the tissue around it, many patients see a smoother, more integrated result when they're animated — smiling, talking, or laughing.
A distinct FDA designation
The FDA's approval of RHA specifically for dynamic wrinkles and folds is a meaningful distinction. It reflects clinical evidence that the product performs well in areas of the face under constant movement — not just at rest.
Closer to natural HA
The gentler manufacturing process in PRESERVED Network technology preserves the long-chain HA structure more than heavily cross-linked alternatives. The result is a product that may integrate more naturally with surrounding tissue, though individual results always vary.
Compare
RHA vs Juvéderm vs Restylane
All three filler families have their strengths. RELUXE providers carry all of them and select the best product — or combination of products — for each area of your face.
| Feature | RHAFocus of this guide | Juvéderm | Restylane |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technology | PRESERVED Network — minimal processing, closest to natural HA | VYCROSS cross-linking — smooth, long-lasting gel | NASHA or XpresHAn — structured or flexible depending on product |
| Movement | Designed to stretch and bounce back with dynamic facial motion | Smooth integration; some products offer flexibility | XpresHAn line specifically designed for dynamic areas |
| FDA designation | FDA-approved specifically for dynamic wrinkles and folds | FDA-approved for multiple areas; not specifically for dynamic wrinkles | FDA-approved for multiple areas; XpresHAn for dynamic areas |
| Best for | Patients who prioritize natural movement and expression | Patients wanting smooth, predictable results with long track record | Patients wanting structure (NASHA) or flexibility (XpresHAn) |
Your injector carries all three families
RELUXE providers select products based on your anatomy and goals — not inventory. The best outcome often involves using different filler families for different areas of the same face.
Treatment Experience
What to expect during your RHA appointment
Consultation and assessment
Your provider will assess your facial anatomy, movement patterns, and areas of concern. They'll recommend which RHA formula — or combination of formulas — best suits your goals and anatomy.
Comfort preparation
Topical numbing cream may be applied for 15 to 20 minutes before treatment. RHA fillers also contain lidocaine, which further improves comfort during injection. Most patients find the experience manageable.
Treatment
Filler appointments typically take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of areas. Your provider will inject carefully, then gently mold the product. You'll be able to see initial results immediately, though some swelling is normal.
Recovery and integration
Some swelling and mild tenderness is normal for 24 to 72 hours. RHA is uniquely suited to gentle facial movement during recovery — light, normal expression may actually help the product integrate. Avoid strenuous exercise and significant heat for 24 hours.
Final results
RHA results are visible immediately but look their best once swelling fully resolves, typically one to two weeks post-treatment. A follow-up appointment is included to assess your results and address any questions.
Maintenance
Many patients see results lasting up to 15 months, though individual results vary. Your provider will recommend a maintenance schedule based on how your body metabolizes the product over time.
