Treatment Comparison

EvolveX vs. CoolSculpting

Two of the most well-known non-surgical body contouring treatments — one uses heat, one uses cold. Here's how EvolveX and CoolSculpting actually compare, and which one RELUXE recommends.

The Bottom Line

EvolveX and CoolSculpting are both non-surgical body contouring treatments designed to reduce stubborn fat without surgery. CoolSculpting (cryolipolysis) uses controlled cooling to freeze and destroy fat cells. EvolveX uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat and disrupt fat cells while simultaneously tightening skin and stimulating muscle through electrical muscle stimulation (EMS).

At RELUXE, we offer EvolveX — not CoolSculpting. This page offers an honest comparison of both so you can understand how they differ, and why EvolveX is the treatment our providers recommend for non-surgical body contouring. Both treatments are for patients near their goal weight looking to address stubborn localized fat — neither is a weight loss treatment.

How EvolveX Works

EvolveX by InMode is a hands-free multi-modal body contouring system with three modalities: Tite (RF for skin tightening), Tone (EMS for muscle stimulation), and Transform (RF + EMS combined). The RF energy heats and disrupts fat cells while simultaneously tightening the overlying skin. EMS creates involuntary muscle contractions — similar to the effect of thousands of targeted exercises per session. Results build over 3–4 months as fat is metabolized and collagen remodels. No downtime, no anesthesia, no recovery.

How CoolSculpting Works

CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis — controlled cooling applied via suction applicators that draw tissue in and cool it to a temperature that causes fat cell apoptosis (cell death) without damaging surrounding tissue. The destroyed fat cells are metabolized over several months. It does not tighten skin or build muscle. A reported rare side effect called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) — where treated fat paradoxically grows rather than shrinks — has led to scrutiny of the technology. CoolSculpting remains FDA-cleared, but patients should discuss this risk with any provider they consult.

Why RELUXE Chose EvolveX

Our providers chose EvolveX because of its multi-modal approach: fat reduction, skin tightening, and muscle toning in a single platform with no downtime. For our patient population, these combined benefits address the most common body concerns more comprehensively than fat freezing alone. EvolveX's RF-based approach avoids the PAH risk associated with CoolSculpting, and the simultaneous skin tightening is a meaningful advantage for patients concerned about loose skin after fat loss.

Important: Neither Treatment Replaces Diet or Exercise

EvolveX and CoolSculpting are body contouring tools — not weight loss treatments. Both are best suited for patients who are at or near their goal weight and want to address localized fat pockets or improve body composition that hasn't responded to lifestyle efforts. Results vary by individual, body composition, and adherence to the recommended session series.

FAQs

EvolveX vs. CoolSculpting Questions

EvolveX and CoolSculpting work differently. EvolveX uses RF heat for fat disruption, skin tightening, and muscle toning. CoolSculpting uses cold for fat reduction only, with no skin tightening or muscle benefit. RELUXE recommends EvolveX for its multi-modal approach and the absence of the rare PAH risk associated with cryolipolysis. Results vary by patient and treatment area.
